Nhl 11 League Is An Improvement On Nhl 10

The nhl 11 league is another winner from EA Sports. As hockey fans know it is the latest video game release in the NHL series of EA Sports. The North American cover athlete of this series title is Jonathan Toews, young captain of the Stanley Cup winning Chicago Blackhawks.

The hallmark of sports video games by EA Sports is continued evolution and NHL 11 continues this tradition. Generally, the changes make for a more realistic and dynamic game. There are changes in some modes and there is a new mode. There is also the first inclusion of the Canadian Hockey League. The game can be played on Xbox 360 and PS 3.

NHL 11 can be played in the same game modes of NHL 10, plus a new Ultimate Team mode. The Ultimate Team mode is a new online mode where players use packs of virtual hockey cards to fill their team roster. There are some 4,000 players in 10 different leagues to collect and use. Here, you may assemble your own team from scratch and compete against other users online to determine the best team each month. While modes carried over from NHL 10 have not basically changed, the Be a Pro and Be a GM modes have been improved. When you create your own hockey Ultimate Team, it will participate in the Ultimate Hockey League. You will play through the one month season in single-player matches or by entering various tournaments to determine playoff rankings. The league cycle will have a pre-season, regular season, post-season playoffs, as well as an off-season. Quality of performance in regular season will determine which playoff brackets amongst the Amateur, Pro, or Elite will be joined. Each month starts a new cycle. Game users will discover that chemistry plays a key role in this mode. Teams that do well in post season are rewarded with arena banners and field logos in the next season. Each assembled can be revitalized by using the Free Agent and Draft packs given out after the post season play.

The biggest game play addition is the new real-time physics engine, which makes every match feel different and more realistic. This replaces the animation based system. The unpredictability of game play now better matches the unpredictability of real-life hockey. Realism is further enhanced by the new faceoff system. There are more than 200 game play enhancements that make the new game, the most authentic hockey video game experience so far. The first appearance of the Canadian Hockey League in this series adds more depth and diversity. Adding this most prestigious grouping of junior hockey is a coup for EA Sports. The members are the Western Hockey, the Ontario Hockey and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey leagues. The number of playable teams rises by 60 with this new addition. Players will now play for the Memorial Cup they compete for. The Canadians hope to raise popular awareness of junior hockey with its appearance in the virtual sphere. The inclusion of player names from this league should help bring greater awareness of junior hockey and the role it plays in enriching the professional rank.

NHL 11 title in the hockey series is another example why the series is an audience pleaser. The inclusion of amateur players from the Canadian league will introduce fans to young players with the potential to be drafted into the professional rank. The presence of teams from Europe, the NHL, the AHL and the Canadian amateurs displays the depth and global scope of this game. The different modes, gameplay enhancements, leagues and the teams give sports video game enthusiasts many reasons to replay this game.
